My name is Officer Stan Moorefield.
I invite ALL casual and serious distance runners to join
the Law Enforcement Torch Run on Wednesday June 8 at 7 AM.
The chart below states the Mile points and Landmarks for the
36.7 mile course along Route US 29 fron Danville to the Campbell County line.
Sign up for 1, or 2, or more miles to run at a 10 minute mile or faster pace.
Please e mail me your preference in distance to run and
I will send back out an updated copy to let everyone know
what part of the run they have.
I have already assigned Officers to run specific parts.
For safety issues, we will keep the convoy together.
Therefore, if you sign up to run a certain leg of the race, then we will keep your pace.
Slower runners will not be allowed to cause the convoy to get separated.
Runner safety is our #1 priority.
I was informed of a Torch Run Fatality that occurred last year,
in a western state, because of the convoy becoming separated
and a driver merged in onto the runners.
I want all to have a great time in participating in this great event
that is for a good cause.
If runner(s) choose to begin at a certain mile point, let me know in your reply and
we will provide transportation back to their vehicles after they run their part.
I will also need shirt sizes for participants.
